NSSC ORGANIZATION

History

The McDowell Mountain Ranch Soccer Club had been in existence for about twelve years.  It started out in the McDowell Mountain Ranch area of north Scottsdale but as the city continued to grow so did the club.  Players and families from all over north Scottsdale became members.  Over the years there have been numerous changes.  In fact over the last three of four years, the club has gone though a few name changes as well.  When the club merged with the Scottsdale Soccer Club a few years back, the competitive teams were SSC and the developmental were called MMRSC.

As of February 1, 2007 the club changed its name to more reflect the community it now serves.  The new name North Scottsdale Soccer Club (NSSC) is a much truer representation of the size and growth the club has seen in the past few years.  MMRSC ceased to exist as of that date, with the exception of finishing up any on going programs.

Today

Not only did the club change its name on February 1, 2007 it also changed its organizational structure.  The club merged with the Arizona Women's and Youth Sports Foundation (AWYSF) a 501 c3 non-profit corporation charter in Arizona since 2001.

The mission statement of the foundation is to promote and develop women's and youth sports throughout the community.  Merging with the youth soccer club was the perfect fit to continue in fulfilling the foundations mission statement.
Tom McConkey serves as the CEO of the Foundation and Executive Director of NSSC and George Nemeh is President of both .
The foundation requires that the club form a non-binding Board of Directors to help advise the club.  Each July at the club's annual meeting the Executive Board will report on potential candidates for positions to fill the advisory board.  Anyone interested in applying for a position on the advisory board should do so by e-mailing a letter of interest  and a resume to tommcconkey@cox.net. Candidates must demonstrate the ability and capability to help the organization reach its full potential in the community.

Mission

The mission of the club is to develop an organization that puts the youth of the community first and foremost in all programs, philosophy's an decisions the club makes.  The club will strive to create a fun, safe learning environment where the emphasis is placed on individual measure growth from the beginning to the end of the season.
